Do I really need a website?

The short answer - yes, absolutely.

Nowadays, businesses need to maintain an online presence to be successful. No matter what your product is, customers need to be able to access your information over the internet easily and quickly if you're going to keep up with your competitors. Your website can be as simple as a page listing your location and a few choice words about your products and services, but as long as it's active, it will help bring you new business. Without a website, every time a potential customer searches on the internet for products or services you may offer, they won't be able to find you!

How do I get started?

It's easy! Simply schedule a meeting (in-person or over the phone) with one of our web developers and we'll help you choose the package that's best for your business and your budget. Next, we'll show you a few websites to get a feel for what you want and give you a quote. After you sign a contract with us, we'll work out payment. Normally we request half of the total up front with the other half due when we finish the site.

How long does it take?

That depends on how big the project is! A very simple website can take as little as two weeks to put together; a more complicated website can take two to three months! However, we're willing to work within your needs to meet your professional goals. If there are any particular deadlines that you would like met, we can discuss them in your free consultation.

Who will I work with?

This is an excellent question and one you should always ask when dealing with web development firms! Many larger companies outsource their website projects to freelancers and third parties. This can complicate things and generally makes getting your dream website a lot harder. Fortunately, we keep all of our website development in-house! Technogizmo is a family owned company that's been operating for over fifteen years. Rest assured that when you come to us for a website, you'll be dealing with the same people from start to finish.

What kinds of businesses do you work with?

We've worked with all kinds, from national organizations to mom-and-pop shops. No job is too small!

How does payment work?

Normally, we prefer to be paid half of the total amount when the contract is signed and the other half when the project is completed. However, there are occasionally exceptions to this rule. The only way to know for sure is to schedule a consultation with one of our web developers.

How much does a website cost?

A good website can cost anywhere from $800 to $8,000. It all depends on what you want out of your website! See our list of packages and pricing for more information.

How do you figure out the prices?

Our prices are based on the number of hours it will take to build your website. The more complicated your website will be, the more hours it will take to build. There are many time-consuming factors that go into building a website, such as programming, troubleshooting, and user testing. We try to keep our costs low by working quickly and efficiently, but at the end of the day we take pride in our work and want to give you the best product we can. That takes some time!

What services do you offer?

We offer a variety of web development services that you can see outlined in our services and pricing as well as a few additional services such as content writing, logo design, and photography. For larger jobs we prefer to outsource our logo design and photography services to make sure you get the best bang for your buck!

Are your websites mobile friendly?

Yes, all of our websites are mobile friendly, from the most affordable to the most luxurious! Modern customers use their phones to find businesses and shop online. Don't be overlooked because of a bad website design!

What is your "Phone-First Design" service?

While all of our websites are easily accessed from a phone, these websites are designed to be primarily used on phones.

Can you help me update my existing website?

Absolutely! Many of our customers came to us with their old, outdated websites looking for a face-lift! We don't have a specific package for this situation, so in this case it's best to set up a consultation to discuss your options.

Can you help me write content?

Yes! We do charge extra for this service as it takes time to do this kind of research; however, this is an excellent option for a business that's trying to improve their ratings on Google searches as we can incorportate many SEO best practices. (What's that? See below!)

Can you help me get photos?

We can offer our photography services if the project is relatively small. However, depending on your needs, we may refer you to one of our excellent photographer friends in your area.

What platforms do you work with?

This is a great question, especially if you're looking for a website update and would like to keep your existing platform!

We are familiar with most of the major platforms, such as Wordpress, Joomla, HTML, and E-commerce. However, we've also worked with lesser-known platforms such as Ekklesia360. If you have it, we can help you with it!

Do you design logos?

We are happy to help with small logo redesign; however, for larger projects, we would have to refer you to one of our excellent graphic designer friends in your area.

What are "SEO services?"

SEO, or "Search Engine Optimization", is a process that makes your website easier to find on search engines such as Google. Believe it or not, setting up your website and slapping on some content isn't good enough anymore. A high-ranking website is built with good SEO practices and keyword mapping. These websites will be among the first few choices when you do a google search, bringing you more business.

What is keyword mapping? Say you own an ice cream business and you want people in the Austin area to be able to find your shop easily. Your specialty is Tiramisu ice cream, the best in Texas! When someone googles "ice cream Austin tiramisu," we want your website to be one of the first ones to pop up so that you get the business and not one of your competitors! That means that all of the content for your website will have to include keywords, or the words that people will search for when looking for your services. This will make it easier for Google to point them in your direction.

If it sounds complicated, don't worry! We'll do all the heavy lifting.

What is "UI/UX?"

"UI/UX", or User Interface/User Experience, is a term referring to your customer's experience when using your website. A well designed website is so easy to navigate that it's almost instinctive. These websites would have a good UI/UX design. It should be as easy as possible for your customers to get the information they need from you - after all, if your website is frustrating to them, they might go to one of your competitors! That's why UI/UX is so important. We work very hard to make sure your website is a joy to use.

What is a "platform?"

When web developers talk about "platforms," we're referring to applications that make your website easier to use, such as Wordpress or Joomla. Not all websites need platforms -- in fact, some of our favorite websites are simple HTML sites! -- but they do make life much, much easier. A website without a platform is like writing a book on Notepad instead of using Microsoft Word.

What's "hosting" and why am I paying a monthly fee for it?

"Hosting" refers to the service that houses your website information and keeps it up and running on the internet. There are small monthly fees associated with hosting. However, those fees are paid directly to your hosting provider -- we don't see a penny! We'll walk you through the whole process so that you know exactly where your money is going and why.

What is a "domain name" and why am I paying an annual fee for it?

A "domain name" is the address of your website - for example, our domain name is "" To own a domain name, you have to pay an annual fee to a domain name provider. However, those fees are paid directly to the provider, not to us. We'll help you set everything up so that you know exactly what you're paying for and why.
